Here is the prescripted letter they want me to send out. It's hard to call me a sell out, when I've been sold out for nearly five years now.
I submitted a tee shirt design called foxy
to Threadless.com to be voted on and hopefully printed.
If I get enough high scores the shirt will be printed and
sold from the site and I will win some prizes. Take a look
at it and if you like it, sign up and give it a score."

9:41PM - Story Idea - Synopsis
Short animated sequence depicting an attack on a conventional (although futuristic) military force, by an alien force.
The conventional force would be stylized to evoke memories of WWII and Nazism. They would consist mostly of automated tanks, jets, robots, and heavily armored troops who appear almost inhuman behind their night-vision goggles, gas masks, and armor.

9:16PM - Rotational Logos
Here's some graphics I enjoy doing. I think there's a technical name for them but I don't remember it. Basically you can read it the same upside down as right side up. Print them off and see.
The first one is a logo I did for our group. "SUBCREATION"
The second one is one I did for a band I was in a while back. "THAELO"

Hello all, my name is Chris... and I'm an alcoholic.. group hug.
..but I draw too, I dont feel like I really fit in with the rest of you fine subcreation folks though. I mostly draw fanart and other various fanboy type stuff. Anyways here goes..
This is the namesake of my e-mail address. Don't laugh, I made this guy up when I was like 13 ok.
I expect to be mocked for drawing Gambit but come on, I grew up on the x-men. How can I just abandon my beloved superheroes? This was done in either painter or open canvas.
ok, this one is based on a song featuring johnny cash, willy nelson, merle haggard, and kris kristofferson. I know.
The most notable feature of this picture is that I "spelt" retreat wrong.
A character I created for one of those monthly challenge type things.
This one I actually like even though the line work is kind of weird.
I have always had a weak spot for western themed anything so when I found the comic "Lone" I fell in love. This picture is one of the characters in the comic.
This is a picture I did of a friend's character, completely constructed in illustrator, I love illustrator.
And because no post should go without graffitti.
The evil roots of satan's creation: videogames.
Sorry if this is too large.

I highly recommend both of these books. Two completely different approaches to drawing, which I think compliment each other really well:

Hello fellow creative types! This is my first posting. My name is Ted Larson. The link to my website is-
I have been working for the past five years on a series of digital paintings illustrating the book of Revelation. So far I have finished over 125 pieces with another dozen or so to go. My clients have been primarily pastors and teachers from across the USA. I have had my artwork reach as far as China, Ireland, South Africa and Puerto Rico. I have also illustrated the books of Daniel and Zechariah. I offer CD'S of Powerpoint ready artwork for presentations as well as fine art quality, light-fast digital prints on canvas. I am self taught as a traditional media painter as well as computer artist. I've found style or expression can't really be taught. It comes through ones work with long hours and years of dedicated practice.
My coming plans are to take a year off and experiment with more expressionist paintings. I would describe the feeling I want to convey as "visual poetry". "Word pictures" seems a bit too confining a term- maybe a bit too simplistic. I'm hoping to tap the dream world of the soul and bring to form ideas describing aspects of the human delemma with all its triumph and tragedy. I want to bring back humor to art. We all tend to get caught up with the intensity of developing something important or just plain cool to look at. I want to mix up styles, mediums and themes of human passages related to our creator, social circumstances and fantasy environments. If I do a still life for example I want it to say something about us as a people, not just an arrangement of shapes colors, etc. If this all sounds pretentious or ambitious- well, time will tell.

4:29PM - Character Design
Some more sketches, pencil on paper, touched up in PS. Just some creatures out of my head. Seemed original when I drew them but they look familiar now that I look at them. Comment if you recognize them from anything. Anyway, their partly influenced by the description of the Hrossa from Out of the Silent Planet, the first book in C.S. Lewis's Space Trilogy.

6:12PM - Anatomy Study
Here are some of my newer drawings -- studies of the human head. Pencil on paper, inverted and colorized in PS (to make it a bit more interesting). All done from reference but with the intent of committing the shapes to memory.

9:15AM - Shoes?!!!
I need ideas! Somebody tell me where all the solitary shoes come from on the side of the freeway. I don't care how fantastical the idea is. I'll pick the idea I like best and turn it into a comic.

2:17PM - Animation
An animation I did a while back.
I just started with the idea from Schadenfreude (top-left in my previous entry) and keyframed it straight ahead, and this was the result. It wasn't planned, which is why the character on the left is shrinking.

Subcreation is an Artist Community which intends to glorify our Creator, encourage artists, inspire creativity, and to provide a platform for online publication. We do this by launching a new issue of our online zine from month to month, and by posting here from day to day.
Subcreation is neither subculture nor medium specific. Its open for all genres, to all Writers, Musicians, Comic-creators, Directors, Game Designers/Developers, etc, and, to professionals and day-job-workers alike.
This community is open to people from all cultures and beliefs, because the founders believe that all people are themselves the artwork of the original Creator; Jesus Christ, and reflecting and honoring His work is one of the goals of this association.
This site is moderated, and it will remain non-political, non-pornographic, and otherwise obscenity free. Submissions are welcome from all, are considered on an individual basis and (other than the aforementioned) are not required to conform to any predefined criteria.
We are located in the Seattle area, and we meet Tuesday evenings for bible study and fellowship. For more information, contact us.
